The Art of Curating: Panel Discussion

Organised by Liang Yi Museum and co-presented by The Ink Society and Asian Art Hong Kong

1 September 2015

"Scholars and Debutantes" is a two-part exhibition at the Liang Yi Museum, presenting objects from the Chinese scholar-literati's studio, complemented by a selection of contemporary ink paintings on loan from the Directors of the Ink Society. On the upper floor of the museum, a different dimension of luxury is presented through a display of European vanities.

"The Art of Curating" was a panel discussion between Angela Zhu, the collections manager of the Liang Yi Museum, Olivia Wang, representative of the Ink Society, and moderated by Yifawn Lee, publisher of Orientations and founder of Asian Art Hong Kong.

The panel focused on how curators choose which works to exhibit and how to exhibit. Angela introduced the scholar objects chosen for exhibition. Olivia discussed the paintings she curated from the Directors of the Ink Society. The panel also shared thoughts on the literati and how the literati sprit and lifestyle continues today.
