Prof Wang Lianming of City University’s Dpt of Chinese & History gave an insightful talk about this less commonly curated topic. He explored the reach of Qing maritime history through the highly prized & rare peacock and kingfisher feathers, as well as the role of these feathers within the Chinese military and court hierarchies.
